How to Calculate Fantasy Points?
To calculate Fantasy Points in football, First, calculate all Passing Points, multiply passing yards by 0.04 (40 yards = 1 point), Add 4 points for each passing touchdown, Subtract 2 points for each interception.
Next, calculate all Rushing Points, multiply rushing yards by 0.1 (10 yards = 1 point), Add 6 points for each rushing touchdown, Subtract 2 points for each fumble lost.
Then, add all Receiving Points, Multiply receiving yards by 0.1 (10 yards = 1 point), Add 6 points for each receiving touchdown, For PPR leagues, add 1 point per reception, For Half-PPR leagues, add 0.5 points per reception.
At last, add any Additional Points, Add 2 points for each 2-point conversion, Add 6 points for any return touchdown.
Sum all points together for the final fantasy point total.
For example, if a player has 250 passing yards (10 points), 2 passing TDs (8 points), and 1 interception (-2 points), their total would be 16 fantasy points.
Fantasy Points Calculation Formula
Standard Scoring Formula:
Fantasy Points = (PY × 0.04) + (RY × 0.1) + (ReY × 0.1) + (PTD × 4) + (RTD × 6) + (ReTD × 6) - (INT × 2) - (FUM × 2)
Where:
- PY: Passing Yards
- RY: Rushing Yards
- ReY: Receiving Yards
- PTD: Passing Touchdowns
- RTD: Rushing Touchdowns
- ReTD: Receiving Touchdowns
- INT: Interceptions
- FUM: Fumbles Lost
PPR Scoring Formula:
PPR Points = Standard Points + (Receptions × 1)
Where:
- Standard Points: Points from standard scoring
- Receptions: Number of catches
Example 1: Quarterback Performance
- Passing Yards = 300
- Passing TDs = 3
- Interceptions = 1
- Result = (300 × 0.04) + (3 × 4) – (1 × 2) = 20 points
Example 2: Running Back (Standard)
- Rushing Yards = 120
- Rushing TDs = 2
- Receptions = 4
- Receiving Yards = 25
- Result = (120 × 0.1) + (2 × 6) + (25 × 0.1) = 24.5 points
Example 3: Wide Receiver (PPR)
- Receptions = 8
- Receiving Yards = 150
- Receiving TDs = 1
- Result = (150 × 0.1) + (1 × 6) + (8 × 1) = 29 points
Example 4: Dual-Threat QB
- Passing Yards = 250
- Rushing Yards = 75
- Total TDs = 3
- Result = (250 × 0.04) + (75 × 0.1) + (3 × 4) = 27.5 points
Example 5: Full PPR RB
- Rushing Yards = 85
- Receptions = 6
- Receiving Yards = 45
- Total TDs = 1
- Result = (85 × 0.1) + (45 × 0.1) + (1 × 6) + (6 × 1) = 19.3 points
What is Fantasy Points?
Fantasy Points: A scoring system used in fantasy football to quantify player performance based on statistical achievements. The formula varies by league type: Standard Scoring Where:
- Passing: 0.04 points per yard, 4 points per TD
- Rushing/Receiving: 0.1 points per yard, 6 points per TD
- Turnovers: -2 points each
PPR (Points Per Reception): Adds one point per reception to standard scoring Where:
- Each Reception: 1 additional point
- Other Scoring: Same as standard scoring
