Circle Volume Calculator

To calculate a sphere’s volume, input radius in your preferred unit (meters, centimeters, inches, etc.), calculator will determine volume using Sphere or Cylinder volume formula.

  • Radius: 3 units, Height: 5 units
  • Calculation:
    V = π (3²)(5) = π (9)(5) = 45π ≈ 141.37 units³
  • Radius: 4 units, Height: 10 units
  • Calculation:
    V = π (4²)(10) = π (16)(10) = 160π ≈ 502.65 units³

How to Calculate Circle Volume

  • Determine the Shape: For a cylinder, you need the radius and height, for a sphere, you only need the radius.
  • Use the Appropriate Formula: Cylinder: V = Ï€ r² h, Sphere: V = (4/3) Ï€ r³
  • Perform the Calculation: Substitute the known values into the formula and calculate.
  • Radius: 2.5 units, Height: 8 units
  • Calculation:
    V = π (2.5²)(8) = π (6.25)(8) = 50π ≈ 157.08 units³

  • Radius: 1 unit, Height: 7 units
  • Calculation:
    V = π (1²)(7) = π (1)(7) = 7π ≈ 21.99 units³

Circle Volume Formula

Basic Volume Formula:

V = (4/3) × π × r³

Where:

  • V: Volume of the sphere
  • Ï€: Mathematical constant Pi (≈ 3.14159)
  • r: Radius of the sphere
  • r³: Radius cubed (r × r × r)

Surface Area Formula:

A = 4 × π × r²

Where:

  • A: Surface area of the sphere
  • Ï€: Mathematical constant Pi
  • r²: Radius squared (r × r)
V = π r² h

Where:

  • V: Volume of the cylinder
  • r: Radius of the circular base
  • h: Height of the cylinder
  • Ï€: Approximately 3.14159

Example 1: Small Sphere

  • Radius = 2 cm
  • Calculation = (4/3) × Ï€ × 2³
  • Volume = 33.51 cm³
  • Surface Area = 50.27 cm²

Example 2: Medium Sphere

  • Radius = 5 cm
  • Calculation = (4/3) × Ï€ × 5³
  • Volume = 523.6 cm³
  • Surface Area = 314.16 cm²

Example 3: Large Sphere

  • Radius = 10 cm
  • Calculation = (4/3) × Ï€ × 10³
  • Volume = 4,188.79 cm³
  • Surface Area = 1,256.64 cm²

Example 4: Very Large Sphere

  • Radius = 20 cm
  • Calculation = (4/3) × Ï€ × 20³
  • Volume = 33,510.32 cm³
  • Surface Area = 5,026.55 cm²

Example 5: Tiny Sphere

  • Radius = 1 cm
  • Calculation = (4/3) × Ï€ × 1³
  • Volume = 4.19 cm³
  • Surface Area = 12.57 cm²

What is Circle Volume?

Circle Volume (Sphere Volume): The amount of three-dimensional space enclosed by a sphere’s surface, calculated using the formula:

V = (4/3) × π × r³

Where:

  • V: Volume of the sphere in cubic units
  • Ï€: Mathematical constant Pi (≈ 3.14159)
  • r: Radius of the sphere in linear units
